Griffith Park and L.A. Zoo

Griffith Park Observatory - Griffith Observatory provides extensive access for persons with disabilities. The Observatory has designated disabled parking spaces for those with official plates and/or placards. All levels of the building and grounds are accessible to all visitors. Each level has elevator access, and some are also accessible by ramp. Both of our theaters - Samuel Oschin Planetarium and Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon - offer assisted listening devices (ALDs) upon request. The regularly scheduled film (The Once and Future Griffith Observatory) in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon also has open captioning upon request. The Observatory can also make additional accommodations for visitors with special needs with advance notice; please call (213) 473-0800, and ask for the Operations staff.

Autry Museum of the American West - All areas of the museum, including restrooms, are wheelchair accessible. Free wheelchairs and strollers are available for check-out on a first-come, first-served basis. (Telephone: 323-667-2000)

Travel Town - All the indoor and outdoor exhibit areas are accessible to persons in wheelchairs, and the restrooms are accessible as well. Generally speaking, a visit to Travel Town Museum is a self-guided, passive experience; there are no special programs for the hearing or visually impaired. Pasadena

Descanso Gardens - all Garden paths are paved and are wheelchair accessible. The Cafe Court and Gift Shop are fully accessible. The Tram is currently not in operation. For further info call (818) 949-4290. (Descanso Gardens Home Page)

Rose Bowl Football Game - Accessible seating is available at the Rose Bowl stadium. See the website for information on seating, parking, shuttles and more.

Tournament of Roses Parade - The City of Pasadena and a volunteer group coordinate three viewing areas along the Parade route that are reserved for people with disabilities. At one of the three viewing areas there is also a section with audio description for the visually impaired and another section with sign interpreters for the hearing impaired. Tickets to the viewing areas are free. No seats are provided; viewers need to bring their own chairs, cushions, stools, etc. Starting October 1, application forms may be requested by calling 626-744-ROSE (7673). Huntington Library, Art Collections & Botanical Gardens - All buildings and most gardens at The Huntington are accessible to visitors with mobility impairments. A map is available at the Visitor Center in the entrance pavilion. Wheelchairs are available for loan at the Visitor Center; please call (626) 405-2100 to reserve in advance. Sign language interpretation is available for all public events; please call (626) 405-2252 at least ten days in advance of the event to make arrangements.
